Standby Generators
Standby generators are different from portable generators in that they are a more permanent form of back up power. This type of onsite energy producing equipment is vital to any commercial operation that would suffer in some way due to a loss of power. Typically installed next to, or as close as practical to the “normal” source of electrical power, they are connected to the “load” via an automatic transfer switch. The fuel of choice is currently diesel or natural gas, or often both for a redundant fuel supply.
